Note: I do think Ms. Zamora's reaction is a natural and possibly even healthy phase of grief. I just find it interesting that our intrepid reporter, at least, found no disjunct between the end of the first sentence and the beginning of the second; my hunch is that the evangelical strains of Christianity which have become so noisy in this country of late are causing a wider identification of the faith in general with the pro-war, kill-em-all-and-let-God-sort-em-out inheritors of Muscular Christianity and a devaluation of the genuinely radical notions inherent in Christian teachings. Also interesting is that this is the exact sort of mindset that they would attribute to Islam and Muslims in general and give as ample justification for the eradication thereof.
